This is the story of Scotish private physician of Idi Amin. Idi Amin is the 3rd President of Uganda and his rule was characterised by human rights abuses, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption and gross economic mismanagement.
Forest Whitaker received outstanding critical acclaim for his performance as dictator Idi Amin in the film. He won the Best Leading Actor award at the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.
Director is Kevin Macdonald from Glasgow of Scotland. (That's why I was interested in this film! :P ) I want to watch his documentary film, One Day in September.
ところで、1980年代に活躍した「あみん」は、イディ・アミンから来ているらしい。なんてセンスの悪いネーミング。さだまさしはイディ・アミンを知っていたのだろうか？岡村孝子は、さだまさしのアミンがどこから来たか知っていたのだろうか？大虐殺で悪名高いウガンダの独裁者の名前を取るなんて、センスを疑う。
