This is the first Romanian film for me. At the end of 1980s, under the Ceauşescu Administration, birth control was not allowed. This law was made not from a moral standpoint bur from labor force growth's stand point. Contraception such as condom was not sold legally and abortion was considered as crime. This film follow the one day of female college student helping the room mate for abortion. You will find the Romanian live under a dictatorship...

初めて見たルーマニア映画。カンヌでパルム・ドールを取った作品。1980年代のチャウシェスク独裁政権下、（道徳的観点からではなく）労働力確保という観点で避妊は法律で禁止されていた。 コンドームなどの避妊具は合法的には手に入らず、堕胎は殺人罪とされていた。この映画では、1人の女子大生が望まぬ妊娠をしてしまったルームメイトの堕胎手術を手伝う1日を追っている。独裁政権下の人々の貧しい生活や日常的に行われていたタバコの非合法な取引などルーマニアの生活が見える。
